An elongated pit, circa 47m long by 23m wide, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The earthwork corresponds with a pit feature depicted in this location on the late 19th century Ordnance Survey First Edition map and on the 2020 Ordnance Survey MasterMap. It is therefore interpreted as a post-medieval or early to mid-19th century extractive pit which had likely passed out of use by the late 19th century.
