Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1880s 25inch First Edition map.
Royal Air Force, 1946, RAF/CPE/UK/1890, Devon County Council RAF/CPE/UK/1890 RP 3171-3172 10-DEC-1946 (Aerial Photograph). SDV169268.

Thebank is not identifiable but a hollow is visible as an earthwork.
Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2019-2020, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 2, Avon Valley to Plymouth (AI&M, formerly NMP) (Interpretation). SDV362982.
A bank 3 to 4m wide and up to 120m long is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as a slight and interrupted earthwork to the north of Well Cross.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1880s 25inch First Edition map but it is in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern, which has been characterised by HLC as medieval enclosure based on strip fields.
The earthwork is interpreted as a former field boundary, possibly of medieval origin, that was cleared prior to the mid to late-19th century.
A hollow towards the south-east end of the bank, identifiable on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013, might be the spread remains of a boundary ditch or evidence of erosion.
The bank is not identifiable as an earthwork on the lidar derived visualisations and has probably been levelled.
