Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Depicted on the Mary Tavy Tithe Map (plot 873); 'House' Part of Lane Head Village, it was owned by John Buller and occupied by James Doble and others at this time. Building is depicted as a simple rectangle aligned east-west, adjacent to the road south of Mary Tavy.

The later 19th century historic map shows the house, currently known as 'Burntownplain'. Building to the north; possible barn, shown as a small square structure.

The early 20th century historic map depicts the house, along with associated buildings to the north (agricultural use?). Labelled as 'Whitestone Cottage'. Barn structure to the north of the house has been extended by the time of this map and is now a rectangle building, aligned north-south. A third structure (east-west aligned) borders the north edge of the plot.
