Summary

Remains of a pre-1700 blowing house situated to the southwest of Eggworthy Farm. The walls survive to a height of 2 metres, and there is a well-preserved wheel-pit and mouldstones. A probable dressing area is situated upstream.

Eggworthy blowing mill. Within the mill a broken mouldstone and a large granite trough (worksheet).

Vis=(22/02/1983) site surveyed at 1:100 by greeves + robinson. Plans in possession of t. Greeves.

Des=yelland, a. + kitchin, r. /dtrg newsletter/13(july 1997)9-10/visit to eggworthy + criptor mills - walkham valley. Tin slag had been found at eggworthy mill. The waterwheel was used to generate electricity for eggworthy farm in 1930's. The sluicegate was operated by a pulley wheel still visible on the side of the barn (yelland + kitchin).
