An oval pit, circa 34m long by 30m wide, is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps, although an earthwork labelled as ‘Quarry’ is shown in proximity to the northwest on the late 19th century First Edition Ordnance Survey map. It is therefore interpreted as a possible post-medieval or early to mid-19th century quarry which had likely passed out of use by the late-19th century.
