A semi-circular pit, circa 23m long by 12m wide, is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019. The earthwork corresponds with a feature depicted in this location on mid-19th century Buckfastleigh Parish Tithe Map. It abuts, and so likely post-dates, a field boundary of possible post-medieval origin along its western edge. It is therefore interpreted as a post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pit which had likely passed out of use by the mid-19th century. The earthwork is also depicted on the 2020 Ordnance Survey MasterMap.

Ordnance Survey, 2020, MasterMap 2020 (Cartographic). SDV363413.

A curvilinear earthwork is depicted.
