HER Number:MDV128323
Name:Field boundary north of Whitley Farm, Thurlestone

Summary

A curvilinear dark interrupted cropmark, indistinctly visible on aerial photographs taken in 2018, is interpreted as having formed over the buried remains of a medieval field boundary. It broadly corresponds to a broad shallow earthwork ditch visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2013, although this could be geological.

A curvilinear dark interrupted cropmark, 5 metres in width, is indistinctly visible on aerial photographs taken in 2018. It could be a continuation of a field boundary immediately to the east that is depicted on the Tithe map and of likely medieval origin. The cropmark broadly corresponds to a broad shallow earthwork ditch visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2013, although this could be geological.
