Four hut circles with related enclosure or field walling (citing J. Turner, undated).
(20/06/1980) Centred at SX 56847023, on a gentle southeast slope, are the remains of an enclosed settlement, now within a conifer plantation.
There are seven huts of which two (A and B on plan) are of Type 2 (SX 56 NE 71).
They have levelled interiors which measure 3.7m. and 4.5m. respectively, with walling 1.5m. wide and 0.4m. high. Both have inner and outer facing slabs and entrances in the southeast.
The other huts are of Type 1 (SX 56 SE 19), with rubble walling 1.2m. wide and 0.3m. high. The internal diameters range from 3.0m. to 3.7m. save for one (c) which is oval and measures 4.0m. by 2.2m. Only one hut has a visible entrance to the south-east. Another, of which little more than half remains is at the end of an enclosure wall, possibly at the entrance.
Three huts are built onto the incomplete enclosure walling which is generally about 1.8m. wide and 0.5m. high. It incorporates some upright slabs but is mainly of massive blocks heaped together.
Surveyed at 1:10 000 on M.S.D. and at 1:2500.
