Higher Shobrooke is documented from the 1780s onwards. However, the plan form of the farmhouse is indicative of a building of at least 17th-century origins.
In around 1909 the farmhouse was refurbished and a new set of farm buildings was erected by George Wreford for his daughter Lillian whom he expected would live at the property after her marriage.
The farmhouse was not covered as part of the survey, however it was briefly introduced as part of the introductory paragraphs.
