A curvilinear earthwork bank, circa 2.5m wide, which forms a semi-circular enclosure, circa 30m across, is visible abutting a field boundary and road on aerial photographs taken in 1946. The bank corresponds with a semi-circular earthwork feature shown on both the late 19th century and early 20th century First and Second Edition Ordnance Survey maps. An earthwork labelled as ‘Quarry’ is also shown on these maps in proximity to the west. The earthwork is therefore interpreted as either a possible post-medieval or 19th century quarry which had been infilled by 1946, or a pond. The earthwork is not visible on the available aerial imagery after 1946 and has probably since been levelled.
