Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1977, SX67SE29 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV140951.

(15/07/1977) The site comprises two enclosures and three huts centred at SX 68997148 on a north-west facing slope at 285.0m OD.
The hut circle at SX 69067147 abuts a parallel reave. It is of type 1 with a levelled interior, but is in poor condition. The internal diameter is 5.0m, with walling 1.8m wide and 0.8m high; the entrance is to the south-east.
Surveyed at 1:10 000 on PFD.

(18/04/1996) Centred SX 6900 7148. One of four hut circles belonging to the Dartmeet parallel reave system (SX 67 SE 95) have been enclosed by two medieval or later fields on the crest of the ridge overlooking the right bank of the Venford Brook south of Bench Tor.
The huts all show signs of being terraced into the slope to create level interiors. Two have been heavily disturbed by later activity.
SX 6901 7144 Hut measures 4.1m in internal diameter, with walls 1.0m wide, 0.5m high. Very disturbed, bisected by footpath.
