Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2019-2020, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 2, Avon Valley to Plymouth (AI&M, formerly NMP) (Interpretation). SDV362982.

Two sub-oval and irregularly shaped earthwork pits, circa 13m and 18m long, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019. The pits do not correspond with any features shown on the available historic maps, although earthworks labelled as ‘Quarry’ are shown in proximity to the southwest on the late 19th century First Edition Ordnance Survey map. This supports the interpretation that the earthworks represent post-medieval or early 19th century quarries which had likely passed out of use by the mid to late-19th century. The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover.
