Turner, S.C., 2005 - 2006, Devon Historic Landscape Characterisation Mapping (Cartographic). SDV349122.

Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2019-2020, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 2, Avon Valley to Plymouth (AI&M, formerly NMP) (Interpretation). SDV362982.
A hollow or ditch circa5m wide and 70m long is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946, crossing the north-west facing slopes near the head of the combe to the south-west of Marridge Cross.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map but is in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern which has been interpreted by HLC as post medieval in character.
The earthwork is interpreted as the remains of a field boundary of post-medieval date that had been cleared prior to the late-19th century.
The earthwork has probably been destroyed or at least partly levelled by the construction of Witchcombe Farm.
