Several curvilinear earthwork ditches, up to six metres wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945, on the north facing valley slopes west of Court Barton. They broadly follow the contour, with the exception of one ditch that runs cross-contour and appears to then turn to the east. They may have been part of the post-medieval or 19th century catchmeadow system to the east (MDV128628), perhaps supplied with water at the western end by the cross-contour ditch. However the ditches are very much wider and they fit into the field system as depicted on the Tithe map, and they could be the remains of medieval field boundaries. No features are depicted in this location on the available historic mapping, indicating that any field boundaries or catchmeadow gutters here went out of use by the late-19th century.
