A bank circa 10 to 15m wide is identifiable on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019 as a subtle earthwork defining an oval enclosed area circa 37 by 46m in size, on the south-east facing slopes south of Whympston Wood.
Further banks are identifiable extending southwards for nearly 35m in a T-shaped formation.
The oval enclosed area is bisected by an extant field boundary, the original boundary of Whympston Wood. The earthwork banks are noticeably less eroded within the area of the former woodland.
The earthworks are interpreted as the remains of a hillslope enclosure of possible Bronze Age to Iron Age date, with possible associated field boundary banks abutting to the south. No entrance or internal features are identifiable.
