A pit is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an oval earthwork under pasture, up to circa 20m across cut into the south-west facing south of Heathfield Farm.
The pit does not correspond with any pit or quarry depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map and might therefore have ceased to be worked by the mid-19th century.
The pit remains identifiable as an earthwork hollow on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019 and has probably been near levelled.
