A north-west to south-east aligned ditch circa 4m wide and 85m long is identifiable as a subtle earthwork on the west facing slopes, north of Ley Coombe.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Modbury but is in keeping with the character of the immediately adjacent field boundaries, which are characterised as medieval enclosure based on strip fields.
It is interpreted as the remains of a field boundary of probable medieval origin that was removed by the early 19th century.
