Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2019-2020, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 2, Avon Valley to Plymouth (AI&M, formerly NMP) (Interpretation). SDV362982.

Two curvilinear banks up to circa 9m wide, 115m long and 20 to 25m apart are identifiable as curvilinear earthwork banks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019, closely following the contours of the west-facing combe slopes to the north-west of Harraton Cross.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Modbury and they are not in keeping with the surrounding field pattern which has been characterised by HLC as post-medieval enclosure.
The banks are interpreted as the remains of field boundaries of medieval origin which were probably cleared as part of post-medieval to early-19th century reorganisation of the field pattern around Whympston Farm.
