Summary

A ditch, possibly a leat or simple catch meadow of 19th to early 20th century date, is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an earthwork closely following the contours of the north-west facing combe slope to the north of Lixton Farm, Aveton Gifford. The ditch is not identifiable on more recent images available to the survey and has probably been levelled.

A ditch is visible as an earthwork.

The ditch is not identifiable as an earthwork.

A ditch is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an earthwork up to circa 2m wide and 145m long, closely following the contours of the north-west facing combe slope to the north of Lixton Farm, Aveton Gifford.
The ditch is possibly the remains of a leat or simple catch meadow of 19th to early 20th century date.
It is not identifiable as an earthwork on more recent images available to the survey and has probably been levelled.
