Two pits, probably bomb craters of Second World War date, are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as circular earthworks circa 7m and 11m in diameter, on a saddle of land between two combes to the east of Yarnacombe Farm.
The pits remain visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1965 but are not visible on more recent aerial photographs and have effectively been levelled.
However, but the location of the northernmost pit remains identifiable as a very subtle hollow on simple local relief visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019.
