South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

The pit does not correspond with any feature depicted on the Tithe Map for Ermington.

An irregularly shaped hollow is identifiable as an earthwork.

An irregularly shaped hollowt approximately 22m by 30m in size, is identifiable as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019 on the north-west facing slopes north-west of Ludbrook Manor.
The pit is interpreted as probably the remains of an extractive pit or small quarry of post-medieval to 19th century date.
The pit does not correspond with any feature depicted on the Tithe Map for Ermington and probably ceased to be worked prior to circa 1840.
