Banks up to 6m wide are identifiable as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, defining a rectilinear area of terracing or enclosure circa 110m long and 40 m wide, abutting the eastern side of Washabrook Lane, south-west of Court farm, Kingsbridge.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Kingsbridge and were therefore cleared by the early 19th century.
The earthworks are probably overlain by banks interpreted as field boundaries derived from strip fields of medieval origin (128795). The relict earthworks are interpreted as evidence of enclosure or settlement of medieval origin, potentially abandoned in the medieval or early post-medieval period.
