Linear banks circa 3m to 8m wide and up to 250m long are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as earthwork banks on the south-east facing slopes east of Oldaway Farm.
The visible earthworks largely correspond with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe map for West Alvington but not the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map.
The banks are probably of post-medieval origin, with some removed prior to the early 19th century and the field pattern substantially changed between circa 1840 and 1880.
The banks remain identifiable only as very subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
