Full description
Rainbird, P. + Passmore, A., 2016, Prehistoric and Romano-British Remains and a Post-Medieval Brickworks at Knowle Lane, Cullompton, Devon, 173-4, fig 2 (Article in Serial). SDV363912.
Unexpectedly, a pit containing Neolithic pottery was excavated at the far south-eastern edge of Area A. The irregular form of the pit suggested it was probably a natural tree throw hollow, rather than a deliberately dug pit. Pottery sherds representing at least two Early Neolithic vessels and a a heavily used piece of worked flint were recovered.
