Comparison with the Tithe Map shows the addition of a horse engine house on the north side.

Information submitted with a planning application shows the barn to be a single storey cob building on a stone plinth with brick quoins and a slate clad roof. The roof structure comprises king post trusses supporting two purlins either side with rafters above. On the northern side is a former horse engine house and there is also a small stone and cob lean-to adjoining the western side. The horse engine house appears to have been originally built of rubble stone with brick quoins but has later additions of concrete blockwork and modern double doors. The roof structure is formed of a principle A-frame truss with hip rafters. These now support a number of modern common rafters. The slate roof also appears modern.
