Earthworks of linear and curvilinear banks and ditches, between 4m-14m wide and northeast-southwest and northwest-southeast aligned, are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007. The visible earthworks occupy an area of circa 16 hectares and are in keeping with the character of the surrounding historic field pattern characterised as medieval enclosures and post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements. Several of the earthworks correspond with field boundaries shown on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map. They are therefore interpreted as field boundaries of a medieval or post-medieval field system which had largely passed out of use by the mid-19th century. The earthwork ditches that are flanked in places by earthwork banks may represent former trackways associated with this field system.

Understanding Landscapes Project, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Volunteer data, 359.1 (Interpretation). SDV363949.

Field boundary not shown on epoch 1 but can be seen on tithe map. SX 42277 75175.
