Linear and curvilinear earthwork banks, circa 6m wide and northeast to southwest and northwest to southeast aligned, are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The earthworks do not correspond with any features shown on the late 19th century First Edition Ordnance Survey map but are in keeping with the surrounding historic field pattern, which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The earthworks are therefore interpreted as relict field boundaries of a possible medieval field system which had passed out of use by the late 19th century.
Understanding Landscapes Project, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Volunteer data, 361.7 (Interpretation). SDV363949.
This large field with curvilinear northern boundary was once 4 fields with original field boundaries clearly visible SX 464 734.
