Name:Enclosure 'C' at settlement 250 metres west of Brockhill Ford, Dean Prior

Summary

This sub circular enclosure, 80m by 85m and 0.5 hectares, is built onto enclosure (B) and has a wall about 2m wide and in poor condition, constructed of large boulders. It contains a freestanding hut circle, internal diameter 8.5m, wall 1.3m wide and in poor condition. There is also the fragmentary remains of a type 1 hut circle, internal diameter 4.5m, built onto the enclosure wall. A ruined yard, about 8m by 13m, is attached to the outside of enclosure B and C.

(05/07/1977) C: SX 67636598. This sub circular enclosure, 80m by 85m and 0.5 ha, is built onto enclosure (b) and has a wall about 2m wide and in poor condition, constructed of large boulders. Enclosure 'C' at the prehistoric settlement at 'Hickaton Hill South-east' has one large free standing Hut Circle '6' of 8 metres diameter opening to the south-east and two on the perimeterone almost dstroyed by the leat.
