Pen shown at 'The Rings' on 19th century map as a semi-circular feature on the eastern boundary.

Field Investigation on 18th July 1977. On the eastern slope of Zeal Plains is a settlement known as 'Riders Rings', consisting of two contiguous enclosures containing 23 huts and 24 yards. The northern enclosure contains most of the yards, all
except one, of which are adjacent to the enclosure wall.
