Earthworks of curvilinear banks, between 5m-10m wide and variously aligned, are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The earthworks do not correspond with any features shown on the late 19th century First Edition Ordnance Survey map but are broadly in keeping with the surrounding historic field pattern, which is characterised as Barton fields. They are interpreted as relict field boundaries of a medieval or post-medieval field system that had fallen out of use by the late 19th century.
The earthworks identified here during the Understanding Landscapes Project were recorded as two separate features, including 361.2 and 361.3. They are probably part of the same field system and so have been incorporated into a single monument record.

Bank that is not shown on epoch 1 and does not appear to be a field boundary. In view of artefact finds very close by could this be part of a settlement enclosure. SX 45691 73955.
