An irregularly shaped pit, circa 35m long by 20m wide, is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2005. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps. It is also not clearly visible on 1940’s RAF digital aerial photographs. It is therefore interpreted as a possible mid to late 20th century extractive pit. The earthwork has possibly been levelled in 2010.
