Two roughly oval pits are identifiable on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and 2019 as subtle earthworks circa 30m across, cut into the south-facing combe slopes overlooking the River Tavy.
A slight mound immediately downslope of the westernmost pit might be evidence of a spoil heap, possibly supporting the interpretation of the features as extractive pits, probably of post-medieval date.
It is possible that the earthworks are geological in origin.
