Earthworks of sub-oval and irregularly shaped pits and banks, between 10m and 42m long, are visible on 1940s digital RAF aerial photographs and on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2010 and 2013. The earthworks correspond with an earthwork and a rectangular feature depicted on the late 19th century First Edition Ordnance Survey map. They also correspond with individual monument records for an adit (MDV70364) and two shafts (MDV70365 & MDV70366) which have been incorporated into this parent record. The earthworks are therefore interpreted as post-medieval or early to mid-19th century mine workings which had probably passed out of the late 19th century.
