The visible earthworks do not correspond with any depicted pit.

A pit is identifiable as a subtle earthwork.

A pit is identifiable as an oval earthwork up to 16m across on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 on the north-west facing slopes immediately north of Tackbear Road, Bridgerule.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map and are probably the remains of an extractive pit or small quarry of post-medieval date that had ceased to be worked by the later-19th century.
