NERC, 2013, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution) Tellus: Tamar Aerial Survey project area, LIDAR Tellus LAST RETURN 01-JUL-2013 to 31-AUG-2013 (Cartographic). SDV363955.

Two parallel curvilinear earthwork ditches are visible.

Hegarty, C., Houghton, E., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2020-2021, Tamar/Lidar; A Single Source Approach to Landscape Survey and Socially Distanced Community Archaeology Area 2 (Culture Recovery Fund project) (Interpretation). SDV364011.

Two sections of curvilinear ditches both circa 6 metres in width and situated in a field above the River Tamar are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The western ditch is circa 70 metres in length, while the eastern ditch is circa 130 metres in length.
The ditches do not correspond with any features on available 19th century historic maps, however they are both orientated approximately north-west to south-east and are in parallel with each other and with adjacent depicted field boundaries. These former field boundaries are also visible as earthwork ditches on lidar visualisations but as they are depicted on historic maps they have not been transcribed.
The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields and the medieval settlement of Blatchborough is recorded to the southeast.
The ditches are interpreted as field boundaries of probable medieval origin that were removed prior to circa 1840, and that may have formed part of a strip field system associated with the settlement.
