A large oval depression approximately 20 metres by 12 metres is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data. It is situated at the edge of a field to the east of Brexworthy Farm and abuts a field boundary.
The earthwork does not correspond with any features depicted on the available 19th century historic maps, however the plot is recorded as Quarry Moor in the Tithe Apportionment and as arable and coarse pasture. Later maps depict the plot as rough or unimproved ground.
The earthwork depression is interpreted as a probable post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pit that ceased to be worked by the 1880s.
