An irregular earthwork hollow, up to 50 metres in diameter, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2013. It is relatively shallow and wide, and its irregular form suggests a natural origin. However it is possible that this is the remains of an extractive pit, perhaps associated with activity at the adjacent farmstead of Summerwell. No earthworks are depicted in this location on the late-19th century maps, where this plot of land is depicted as rough ground, and extraction of materials from an uncultivated area is likely to have predated the late-19th century.
