Hegarty, C., Houghton, E., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2020-2021, Tamar/Lidar; A Single Source Approach to Landscape Survey and Socially Distanced Community Archaeology Area 2 (Culture Recovery Fund project) (Interpretation). SDV364011.

A curvilinear bank between 2 metres and 10 metres in width, with flanking ditch circa 6 metres in width are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data. The earthwork feature is orientated approximately east-west across a field south-east of West Greadon.
The bank and ditch do not correspond with any features depicted on available 19th century historic maps, although they are in parallel to extant and former field boundaries. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields.
The earthworks are interpreted as a medieval to post-medieval field boundary that passed out of use prior to circa 1840, and that may have formed part of a medieval strip field system. Subtle linear earthworks south of this are interpreted as of geological origin.

Understanding Landscapes Project, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Volunteer data, 859.4 (Interpretation). SDV363949.

The epoch 1 map shows this field as undivided but it was once divided into 6 possibly 7 strip fields. SS292173
