Two irregularly shaped pits, both circa 18m long by 12m wide, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. The earthworks are shown to be located either side of a field boundary of medieval character which is depicted on the late 19th century First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The eastern of the two earthworks also corresponds with a rectilinear enclosure shown on this map.
They are interpreted as possible post-medieval or early to mid-19th century extractive pits which had probably passed out of use by the late 19th century.
