Summary
A curvilinear ditch, interpreted as a relict medieval or post-medieval field boundary, or a possible 19th century drainage ditch, is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. The field boundary had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.

A curvilinear ditch, circa 8m wide and broadly north to south aligned, is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013.
The earthwork does not correspond with any curvilinear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps, but is in keeping with the surrounding historic field pattern, which is characterised as rough ground.
The form of the earthwork supports the interpretation that it is a relict medieval or post-medieval field boundary which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century. Some caution should, however, be exercised as it is also the possible that the earthwork is a 19th century drainage ditch for the conveyance of water into a stream to the south.
