Summary

The earthworks probably correspond with three field boundaries that are shown in this location.

Curvilinear banks that are flanked by ditches, both circa 10 metres wide and orientated north-west to south-east and north-east to south-west, are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013.
The earthworks probably correspond with three field boundaries that are depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map. The remaining earthworks do not correspond with any such features on this map, or on later available historic maps, but are in keeping with the surrounding historic field pattern, which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields.
This supports the interpretation that the earthworks are relict field boundaries of a possible medieval field system which had partly fallen out of use by the mid-19th century. One of the banks at SS29261065 possibly continues across the earthwork remains of a Bronze Age barrow (MDV129812).
