An east-west orientated linear ditch circa 6 metres in width is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any features depicted on the available 19th century historic maps, however it abuts an extant field boundary to the east and a recorded former field boundary to the west (MDV103514). The plot is recorded as ‘Rockstick’ in the Tithe Apportionment, the meaning of which is unknown (MDV75385). The ditch is visible as a faint cropmark in imagery from 2017.
The earthwork ditch is interpreted as a field boundary of probable post-medieval, but possible medieval, origin, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
