A clearly defined bank approximately between 7 and 14 metres in width is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The bank does not correspond with any features depicted on the available 19th century historic maps. It aligns with field boundaries that appear to follow the natural hillside topography, partially depicted on both the Tithe Map and the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map.
The bank is interpreted as a field boundary of medieval to post-medieval origin, that may have enhanced an existing geological ridge, and that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
