A curvilinear ditch approximately 2.5 metres wide, flanked by banks up to 3.5 metres in width, are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 2004 and 2013. They are located immediately south of, and run alongside, field boundaries depicted on the 19th century mapping, between cultivated land to the north and rough ground to the south. It follows the contour and could have been a water channel taken off the natural watercourse to the north-east. At its western end it appears to terminate at or meet a feature depicted on 19th century maps as an earthwork pit and mound at SS2928608927. This probable post-medieval or 19th century industrial feature may have required a water supply, and a linear feature immediately north of the pit is on the same alignment as the curvilinear earthwork, suggesting that it is contemporary. However the scale of the curvilinear earthworks might favour an interpretation as a medieval or post-medieval holloway, perhaps one that connects to a crossing of the watercourse to the north-east.
