A small irregular shaped depression, circa 11 by 17 metres, is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. It is situated at the boundary between a field and woodland to the south-west of Leddon Farm.
The depression does not correspond with any features depicted on the available 19th century historic maps. It abuts a depicted field boundary between two plots recorded as arable in the Tithe Apportionment. The plot to the south is shown as becoming woodland from the mid-20th century onwards.
The depression is interpreted as a post-medieval to 19th century extractive pit, that ceased to be worked prior to circa 1880.
