Name:Hut 540 metres south of Combestone Tor

Summary

Hut is 4.5 metres (internal diameter) and has orthostatic walls 1.5 metres wide and is cut back into the slope; it has a south facing entrance. A rectangular recess, 1.6 metres by 1.0 metres, with two large slabs forming two sides, has been constructed in the thickness of the wall and opens into the hut. The hut impinges upon the corner of a reave wall.

(10/07/1977) These four hut circles centred at SX 669713 on the moderate slopes at the north end of the ridge at 365 metres above OD. They are either integrated with, or built within, the parallel reave system (SX 67 SE 92) and contemporary in usage.
(Hut A) SX 66707141. This type II hut circle, internal diameter 4.5 metres has orthostatic walls 1.5 metres wide and is cut back into the slope; it has a south facing entrance. A rectangular recess, 1.6 metres by 1.0 metres, with two large slabs forming two sides, has been constructed in the thickness of the wall and opens into the hut. The hut impinges upon the corner of a reave wall.

Very small hut circle visible on 1946 aerial photographs where three boundaries meet, two of these extending from the Venford Reave.
