Hegarty, C., Houghton, E., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2020-2021, Tamar/Lidar; A Single Source Approach to Landscape Survey and Socially Distanced Community Archaeology Area 2 (Culture Recovery Fund project) (Interpretation). SDV364011.

A series of curvilinear banks, ranging between circa 8 and 20 metres in width, and with two possible curvilinear enclosures, each circa 50 metres in diameter, are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019.
The banks are situated near Knap Head across several plots all recorded as ‘Cliff Ground’ in the Tithe Apportionment, and immediately south of recorded Common Land. The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available 19th century maps. The historic landscape is characterised as post-medieval enclosures and modern agricultural activity may have reduced the earthworks.
The banks are interpreted as a medieval field system, including two possible curvilinear enclosures, and that passed out of use prior to circa 1840. It is possible some banks may be confused with geological features.

Understanding Landscapes Project, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Volunteer data, 855.1 (Interpretation). SDV363949.

A round feature or curvilinear enclosure not fully complete with an opening on the southern side. Approx diameter of 36m. Ss215187
