Two sub-circular pits, circa 8 metres and 10 metres in diameter, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps.
They are interpreted as possible post-medieval or early to mid- 19th century extractive pits that had probably passed out of use by the mid to late 19th century. The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover.
