Three sub-circular pits, between 8-22 metres in length, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The northern-most pit corresponds with an earthwork that is depicted on both the late 19th First Edition and early 20th century Second Edition Ordnance Survey maps.
They are interpreted as possible post-medieval or early to mid- 19th century extractive pits that had probably passed out of use by the mid to late 19th century.
