Possible strip fields were recorded at SX349870 by the Understanding Landscapes Project volunteers. Two curvilinear banks, up to approximately 4 metres wide and 11 metres apart, are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 2013 and 2016. They are parallel to boundaries depicted on the available historic mapping, and are interpreted as the remains of field boundaries originating in the medieval period, which went out of use by the late-19th century. Further possible boundaries are visible as indistinct earthwork ditches to the north and south but are not clear enough to transcribe.
Understanding Landscapes Project, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Volunteer data, 494.01 (Interpretation). SDV363949.
Possible but faint evidence of curvilinear boundary lines possibly showing strip fields at SX349870.
